CentOS 7, minimal installation
To start with the installation of CentOS 7.3, we will need the ISO file. It can be the minimum ISO installation of CentOS or the ISO DVD file. If you plan to install only on this server, choose the minimum ISO since it is smaller, the installer will download the necessary packages during the installation later. Otherwise, if you intend to install on several servers with CentOS 7.3, choose the ISO DVD so you don't have to download the same packages again for each server.
You can download CentOS 7.3 of your choice from the following link: http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/centos.org/7/isos/x86_64/
CentOS 7 DVD: http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/centos.org/7/isos/x86_64/CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1908.iso
CentOS 7 CD Minimal: http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/centos.org/7/isos/x86_64/CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1908.iso
If you intend to install on a VMware or VirtualBox virtual machine. The installation steps are the same. If your server cannot boot from an ISO file, burn the ISO to a DVD and insert it into the server's DVD drive.
1. Select Install CentOS Linux 7 and press Entel
2. Select the language of our choice for the installation of CentOS 7 and press continue.
3. In this screen the configuration or installation of resources will depend on our needs but there are three points that must be modified such as: Installation destination, Software selection and Network or Host configuration. We click SOFTWARE SELECTION.
4. By default in the software selection minimal installation is selected, but it is necessary to select library compatibility although we could edit it manually later. We press (Done).
5. Next we click on INSTALLATION DESTINATION For the configuration of our disk.
6. In these screens we select the destination disk of our CentOS 7 installation, we could leave the default configuration if we are performing an installation in a virtual machine otherwise we could edit our selected disk (I will configure partitioning).
7. Press (Done) and edit the configuration of our disk as follows:
We have created three SWAP, BOOT and the rest partitions for the root directory that contains the VAR, HOME, ETC directories ...
SWAP: 5GB, It is advisable to create a swap partition in proportion to the amount of memory of our hardware, that is 5GB of RAM 5GB SWAP.
BOOT: 500 MB
/: The rest of our disk space.
8. Press (Dane) accept the changes on our disk. We select NETWORK & HOST NAME.
9. On the next screen we can configure our network and host of our operating system as follows.
Like the configuration of our hard disk, the network and host configuration will depend on our needs, if we are performing an installation on a virtual machine where we are not going to need a static IP address we simply enable the network connection to obtain an address Dynamic IP through the DHCP assignment of our Reuter. In the same way we change the name of our host and click on apply.
10. Otherwise, if you are installing on a server, the configuration of a static IP address is required, we could do it as follows by clicking on (configure ...).
11. In the next window we select (IPv4 Settings), in method we select (Manual) and add the IPv4 configuration of our preference.
In the configuration of a static IP address it is necessary to know the link IP address of our Reuter.
12. Now we go to (IPv6 Settings), in method we select (Ignore) and click on (Save).
13. We enable our network, click on (Done) and continue with Begin Instalation.
14. On the next screen we assign a password to the ROOT user and create a new USER.
15. We click on (Finish Configuration).
16. Restart the system.
17. We start the session with the user that we have created in our system for the first time and take the root user session with the command (su).

The installation and updates must be confirmed with “Y”.
